Marty Glickman was an American broadcaster famous for his broadcasts of the New York Knicks and New York Giants. Glickman was not just a voice but a noted track and field at Syracuse University. Glickman was a member of the United States track team at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. In an unexplained, last minute decision he and teammate Sam Stoller a fellow Jewish American athlete were removed from the 400-meter replay at the 1936 games where they were replaced by Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalfe who would win the gold medial. It was widely viewed as an American effort to avoid offending the then Chancellor of Germany, Adolph Hitler. In later years Glickman would talk and write extensively about the contreversial decision. This Shoe Card has been Autographed by Marty Glickman and authenticated by JSA.
