After impressing scouts in high school, Alan Griffin accepted an offer from the University of Illinois to play basketball. Griffin played two solid seasons for the Fighting Illini before transferring to Syracuse University. He started at Small Forward for the Orange and helped them reach the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
