After an impressive collegiate career at Stanford University, Nneka Ogwumike was selected first overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2012 WNBA Draft. Ogwumike won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2012 and led the Sparks to win the WNBA Finals in 2016. She was named Finals MVP and became only the 7th player in league history to win the regular-season MVP Award and the WNBA Finals in the same season. Regarded as the ultimate role-model, Nneka is an advocate for health, wellness, equality and opportunity, currently serving as President of the WNBA players' union (WNBPA) and is leading the group in its high profile renegotiation of the WNBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement. She is a five­ time WNBA All-Star, three-time AII-WNBA selection, and three-time All-Defensive WNBA selection.
