Stephane Matteau was drafted by the Calgary Flames 25th overall during the 1987 NHL draft. He played 14 seasons in the NHL for several different teams. Matteau is most remembered for his 1994 Eastern Conference Game 7 Double Overtime goal which sent the New York Rangers to the Stanley Cup Final. Matteau also scored the game-winning goal in Overtime in Game 3. Those two goals cemented his legacy as a Rangers legend.
